Write for us
Emerald Culture Review welcomes pitches that make a specific cultural subject clearer without forcing it into a single origin story or universal meaning. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What we welcome
We consider original essays and explainers about objects, customs, symbols, craft and cultural memory. Strong proposals have a defined subject, a reader-facing question and a clear reason the topic merits close attention. Pieces should suit general readers and distinguish description from interpretation.
What makes a good pitch
Keep the proposal focused: name the subject, state the central idea, describe the approach and explain what material or perspective supports it. Flag uncertainty and relevant limits rather than promising a definitive answer. Do not pitch claims that require professional advice, confidential information or unverified access.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a short outline and any relevant writing sample details in your message. Please do not send a complete draft unless requested. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we cannot guarantee a response time.
